Objectives:
By the end of the course the delegate will:
- Have a basic knowledge of fire precaution/prevention
- Have a basic knowledge of fire safety legislation
- Understand the need to keep escape routes clear and to recognise problems
- Understand the role of the Fire Warden / Fire Marshal
- Be aware of the elements for fire to start and continue to burn
- Be aware of the principles of prompt and safe evacuation
- Be aware of the types of extinguishers
- Be able to safely operate an extinguisher
- Be able to safely and regularly visually inspect on-site extinguishers
