Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Service Engineer / Technician

Salary £27,500 – £32,000 per annum (DOE) Overtime rates paid accordingly

Permanent / Full time, 8 hours, 8am – 4.30pm Monday – Friday

We are looking for an enthusiastic fire alarm service engineer to join our close-knit team of, across all divisions, twenty members of staff.

  • Key Responsibilities-Servicing and maintenance of fire alarm systems
  • Servicing and maintenance of emergency lighting systems
  • Representing Smiths Fire in a friendly and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ensuring that administration requirements are actioned on time and all necessary paperwork is accurately maintained
  • Out of hours on call rota on a 1 in 6 week basis (after a 3 month probation period)
  • Occasional working away from home may be required Experience / skills required
  • Minimum 1 year experience in the fire alarm & emergency lighting industry
  • Basic electrical circuit knowledge (Level 2 electrical qualifications beneficial)
  • Working knowledge of BS5839 and BS5266
  • Fault finding skills
  • Have a flexible and willing approach to work
  • Ability to operate effectively under pressure
  • A genuine interest in company progression
  • Be able to pass security screening Benefits of Employment

  • Training available onsite and offsite, in-house and external, including E- learning platforms

  • A full, valid UK driving license
  • Level 2 electrical qualification preferred
