Fire and Rescue Services (FRS) for England attended 554,269 incidents in the year ending September 2019. This was a 5% decrease compared with the previous year.

Of these incidents 163,039 were fires; this was a 10% decrease from the previous year.

FRS attended 228,309 Fire false alarms in the year ending September 2019. This was a 2% decrease compared with the previous year.

Fire false alarms ‘due to apparatus’ accounted for approximately 67% of this number.

The number of incidents attended by FRS peaked in 2003/04 at over one million incidents.

For around a decade there has been a general decrease in all three categories of incidents and has settled at about half a million.
